From the author of the New York Times bestsellers Gabriel’s Rapture and Gabriel’s Inferno comes the epic conclusion to the captivating romantic trilogy.

Professor Gabriel Emerson has left his position at the University of Toronto to embark on a new life with his beloved Julianne. Together, he’s confident that they can face any challenge. And he’s eager to become a father.

But Julianne’s graduate program threatens Gabriel’s plans, as the pressures of being a student become all consuming. When she is given the honor of presenting an academic lecture at Oxford, Gabriel is forced to confront Julianne about the subject of her presentation—research that conflicts with his own. And in Oxford, several individuals from their past appear, including an old nemesis intent on humiliating Julia and exposing one of Gabriel’s darkest secrets.

In an effort to confront his remaining demons, Gabriel begins a quest to discover more about his biological parents, beginning a chain of events that has startling repercussions for himself, Julianne, and his hope of having a family.

My Review:

I was so glad I got to read Professor Emerson’s new (and last) book before the release! I’ve waited FOREVER for it!!

What can I say, I really love this series! The nerd in me loves the art and history talk, I am a BIG fan of Dante myself (The Divine Comedy is one of my favorite books, specially Purgatory LOL)! Since book 1, Sylvain’s writing intrigued me, it has a “mature” quality to it that appealed to me since the beginning!

And Gabriel Emerson…come on! Hot glassed, nerdy Professor? What not to love? Did I mention HOT???? And Gabriel and Julianne’s relationship and story isn’t inappropriate, not even in the earlier stages, or the orchade  years 😉

And this final installment doesn’t disappoint at all! We have the same suspects, Gabriel, Julianne, Christa, Paul, Richard, Rachel, Aaron and others…but it is set in a different tone…. After all Gabriel and his Beatrice are married now and they have to face new obstacles, as Julianne being accepted by the “nerdy” community for her own merits instead of her husband’s…

I loved to see a new side of both of them…They now have to learn to face their problems and find solutions together, and compromise! Gabriel, surprisingly, is the one who compromises more, at least in the beginning…I love his sweet, yet sexy, moments. He is so dreamy I was seriously motivated to find a way to enter my Ipad and grab him all for me LOL

Gabriel and Julianne’s age difference doesn’t seem to bother neither one of them and they are perfectly matched…But Gabriel wants children and Julianne doesn’t think about them for the near future…Will that be enough to settle down Gabriel’s papa fever? Well, the Universe has a funny way to show us what we need and when we need…no matter if we think we’re ready for the changes!

If I wasn’t already in love with Gabriel Emerson, I’d definitely be after reading this book! I love how, even when he and Julianne are fighting, he continues to be swoon-worthy! I absolutely LOVED to see her disagreeing with him and sustaining her arguments to prove why!!

Gabriel’s relationship with his family also improved and it was lovely to see him more open not only with his brothers and sister but also with Richard! Also we get some new surprises about his blood family, which I loved and hated some (hate one of his bitch sisters)…

Christa is back and she is bitchier than ever! I couldn’t feel sorry for her, no matter what happened to her, I was thinking like “you deserved it, you BIATCH!” LOL There’s also Natalie (and her mom) what they deserved and I actually started to feel sorry and root a little for Simon, until I remembered what a jerk SOB he was to Julianne…karma is a bitch for sure!

Although it is written in third person I loved how Sylvain puts his own opinion on some characters sometimes…these smarty and quirky comments always make me laugh!

As I already said, I loved to see Gabriel and Julianne as a married couple, with married problems and discussions but also trying to get past their problems and coming with solutions together! They make such a good couple and it’s obvious it makes people jealous! Not only jealous of Julianne’s hot and sexy husband but of their relationship and how smart of a couple they make!

The writing is good as always and the historical facts are entertaining and made me want to be a Dante specialist too! In this book we get to see the day-by-day of one of our favorite couples and I love when a book shows us the characters daily routine! No matter how “normal” they are. It makes not only the story, but the characters too, more real and touchable. It makes us feel closer to them and like we are experiencing what they are with them!

I don’t know if it’s because they are married and all grown up and trying to overcome their fears and problems together, but the reality in the story made me feel more connected with them. This change shows us the change in the characters and how it can influence how we feel about a story! Only truly talented writes can make these sutil changes noticeable, but at the same time so perfect for their stories! It is difficult to change a story a bit without changing it, change the tone, steering it in a different direction, without taking the story in a whole completely different direction along the way, if you know what I mean…If you don’t you definitely need to read this series!! Dante, history, sexy professors with nerdy glasses, bow ties and hot suits, strong and witty females and hot scenes are only a few of the reasons this is one of my favorite series!

I wish there were more books about them, I would never get tired of either of them! Specially Gabriel’s lessons in sexyness 😉

But the way the series ended was certainly perfect!

I’m interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human condition – particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself.

I’m also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, and music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

I try to use my platform as an author to raise awareness about the following charities: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation, WorldVision, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and Covenant House. For more information, see my Twitter account.
