Deacon makes it his mission to win Jenna back, to save her from the years of pain he caused. He swears to be her hero, grasping with both hands at their second chance at the kind of love many dream of .

In life nothing is certain, and every day must be treated as if it’s your last. Can they save their love, and each other, before it’s too late?

My Review:

Well, when I first read the blurb for Second Chances I admit I got interested in it, but I wasn’t expecting to like it so much! And I loved it! The writing, the characters, the story…

This is a story that, just like the title, deals with second chances…In life we not always get a do-over, but we might get a do-better! And I felt this in this story. I don’t think the characters would have felt, loved and dealt with everything as well as they did if they haven’t been through all they have. And not only the main characters, all of them.

I liked the fact that the story wasn’t focused only in the main characters too. The dialogues, the story, the character, it all felt natural to me, nothing forced. Everything was supposed to be where they are! No matter if things worked in the past or in the present or in both…

This is a book about maturity, learning from mistakes and showing that nothing is perfect. Life is imperfect and beautiful because of it! People have flaws and we gotta learn to accept this fact and move on, not put them on a high scale only to have them fall when they make a mistake. This book taught me about this a lot. We gotta learn how to deal with the rocks life put in our paths and also to reach out for the ones we love and who love us!

Deacon is such a great character! He isn’t flawless and because of that he is PERFECT (*swoons*) and Jen is completely original, when she lets loose from the prison she put herself in when she first ran away from the problems. Both of them are runners, but they knowledge this fact and they learn from the past and grow up.

There were a few grammar mistakes or some spelling, but nothing major, a good new formatting can change that and it won’t prevent you to completely fall in love with this story and characters.

I was hooked from the start and, as I said, this story flows very naturally. It’s not short, but it isn’t too long either…The length is enough for the author’s talent to make an appearance! Everything flows in a good pace, so it doesn’t get tiresome, but it looks longer than it is.

I loved to read this story and I’m great I’m finding new great authors to adore!

P.S.: Ohhh not to mention the HOT, HOT scenes 😉

Deacon's POV - after dinner

I wrote a poem when I was nine years old called ‘Without You’ and it was published in an anthology. That is where my writing journey began.

I bounced around between jobs and career ideas for a long time before I decided I wanted to take writing seriously. With nothing but college level qualifications and a mind full of inspiration, I sat at my desk and scribbled plan after plan onto A5 paper. In a few hours I had planned six novels including a trilogy. A full time mother to an energetic little boy, I thought writing and publishing was a long shot, and something I would keep in a drawer to read to myself, afraid to share what I had written.

But here I am, an independent author, full time mother and insomniac.

I write sexy contemporary romance with a twist. Most of my stories are every day occurrences, things often thought of as irrelevant, although they affect and consume peoples lives every day. I create strong characters, emotional story lines and journeys with no simple road to the desired destination. Life isn’t about where you end up, it’s about the paths you take to get there and the people and events you encounter on the way, and that is what I aim to show with my writing.

I have many more stories on the way, and I hope everyone who reads, enjoys them and is able to relate to them in one way or another.
